The Top Three Grocery Delivery Deals
Going to the grocery store is a time-consuming chore that many people would rather skip. You still have to eat though, and constantly eating out is expensive and not the healthiest choice you could make. While going to the store yourself does give you the option of making last-minute adjustments and making impulse purchases, it is still something you may wish someone else would do for you. The idea of grocery delivery has caught on and is growing, from individuals offering shopping services to companies offering programs to get your groceries delivered. The top three grocery delivery deals are Instacart, Peapod and Walmart. There are many others, and they are usually available in bigger cities or areas with a large population. They are growing though, so even if you are in a rural area, this service could be coming your way.
It is hard to figure out what the real cost is at times, but can you really put a cost on convenience and saving time? Instacart is one of the fastest growing services out there and is available in 40 states. The unique thing here is that Instacart connects you with local people who are in the delivery business. You still get the choice of which store to buy things from, and it can include just about anything. Membership, which costs $149 per year, is not required. Membership gives you free delivery on orders over $35. There is a cost per delivery if you are not a member. The company does not honor sales prices or coupons. In larger cities like LA, New York or Miami, you can get groceries delivered within an hour. You may also order and pickup at your store.
Peapod has a different philosophy. This company has huge warehouses and that is where your groceries come from. This service is available primarily in New England, and is moving to the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest. A membership of $119 gives you a year of unlimited deliveries. There are shorter term memberships available. You must order $60 worth of groceries and there is a fee of less than $10 for each order. The bigger the order the cheaper the delivery. You may schedule same day delivery, or up to two weeks in advance. Peapod accept manufacturers coupons. Peapod offers meal kits, where you can order all the ingredients for a specific meal with one click. You can also get product suggestions based on your recent purchases.
Walmart delivery is available everywhere except Wyoming, Montana, and much of New England. You may get your groceries delivered to your home, or you can place and order and pick it up at the store. This is not available in rural area stores. There is no extra charge for the delivery if it is available in your area. Walmart does not accept coupons when you are using this service. Walmart is growing its service and says it will be available to 40 percent of American households by the end of 2018. Walmart has a group of trained shoppers that can also go to other stores for you in some areas. There is an individual person that will be filling your order at the store where you placed the order. You may also allow them to substitute an item if it is out of stock.
