The new Chevrolet Trax sports a surprisingly spacious interior. The vehicle features seating for up to five passengers with plenty of legroom and headroom. Cloth seating is standard on the base LS trim but with the LT you'll get Deluxe cloth seating, while the top-of-the-line Premier comes with leatherette seats. As for cargo space, you'll have up to 48.4 cubic feet of space for all your belongings. The front passenger seat folds flat to maximize space. You can also use the top roof rack for bikes, surfboards, furniture or whatever else you need. The infotainment system features a 7-inch touchscreen display with a rearview camera and a standard six-speaker audio system. Infotainment features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Available features offered are a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and myChevrolet Mobile App support. Make phone calls, play videos and music, view the weather and so much more with a wide selection of apps that accessible right from your center console.
While the base LS trim offers plenty of the basic standard features, you can add a ton of luxury features to the Trax's upper-level trims. Some of the features that come on LT and Premier trims are cruise control, Halogen projector-beam headlamps, and LED taillamps. To the LT mode, you can add remote start and keyless entry. While a power sunroof, six-way power driver seat, keyless open and keyless start are available on LT models, with the Premier trim-they come standard. Safety features such as forward collision alert, blindspot monitoring, and lane departure warning are also standard on the Premier trim, but are not available on the LT, except for rear park assist. For music lovers, it's also worth noting that the Bose premium seven-speaker audio system and satellite radio are available on the LT and Premier.
Of course, it's impossible to talk about the Chevy Trax and not mention performance. The Trax boasts a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that provides strong acceleration. This is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. All trims are offered with your choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Power steering and StabiliTrak, an electronic stability control system with traction control, are standard. When it comes to fuel economy, the Trax gets 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, which means fewer trips to the pump.
While the 2020 Chevy Trax is not yet available, pricing will start at around $21,300.
